The advantages of a swipe card:
Swipe cards can store additional information
The additional information can be used for other services like:
Library membership
Cashless vending
Storing biometric templates.

The disadvantages of a swipe card:
· Swipe cards can be lost or stolen
· They are easily damaged at such a state they are un-useable.



The advantages of an access code:
An access code is like a password it is easy to remember hard to guess



The disadvantages of an access code:
Just because its hard to guess doesn’t mean it can’t be guessed, anyone could see or overhear you typing or talking about the access code and get hold of it.




The advantages of a key to a secure room:
It can’t be unlocked without the key so only the person/people with the key can get in.
The disadvantages of a key to a secure room:
You could lose the key.



I think having an access code as a door security system is the safest way because no one can get hold of the code unless told.


A system is needed available 24/7 because someone might need some data for a certain deadline that must be met.
